Marina Alta

The Marina Alta is a most spectacular part of Spain, with so many wonderful places to visit and plenty of walks to explore the surrounding areas.  There are many walking groups in the Marina Alta, groups that cater for the serious walker and those for the plodder.  From gentle walks around beautiful Spanish villages to 6 hour treks through spectacular mountian scenary.

A friendly and informal group of walking enthusiasts

The Costa Blanca Mountain Walkers are in a very well organised group who meet regularly.  They cater for the seasoned walker and have a very detailed website with great information for all who are interested in walking in Spain, see link below to the Costa Blanca Mountain Walkers website. 

Asociación Social de la Tercera Edad de Jávea

The main purpose of the Jávea U3A is to encourage lifelong learning and friendship for those no longer in full time employment, by providing Educational, Recreational and Leisure Activities for its members.  With many groups of various organised activites this is a great association to join if you are retired and would like to get socially active in the Javea area.

Currently there are 3 walking groups at Jávea U3A:

  • Gentle Walks – Slow pace, on flat ground for 40 minutes
  • Health Walks – All terrain for 1 hour
  • Intermediate Walks – All terrain for 2 to 4 hours
